Privacy policy

Your player, your information. Here’s how we handle it.

About this policy

This policy explains how Fool Me handles information when you play, create an account, buy Pro or contact support. The operator and contact details appear below. You can play as a guest; you do not need to connect an email, Apple or Google account to join a game.

Information used to run the game

We store a player identifier, nickname, chosen character, room membership, presence and activity times, submitted answers, votes, scores and match statistics. A guest also has a persistent player identifier. Room members can see your nickname, character, score and whether you are active; the game reveals answers and votes as part of play. Keep room invitation codes private and do not include personal or sensitive information in nicknames or answers.

Accounts and sign-in

If you connect an account, Supabase Auth stores the email address and identity information supplied through email, Apple or Google sign-in. Apple may provide a private relay email address. Resend delivers email verification codes. We use this information to authenticate you and help you return to the same player. Never send support your password, verification code or payment card details.

Pro subscriptions

Apple handles iOS purchases and payment details. RevenueCat processes your app player identifier, store transaction and subscription identifiers, product, purchase and expiry dates, renewal status and technical information needed to verify and restore purchases. Our server stores verified entitlement and subscription status. We do not receive your full payment card number. Store transaction records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their own obligations and policies.

Why we use information

We use information to provide games and account access, deliver verification emails, keep scores and saved statistics, verify purchases, restore access, answer support requests, prevent abuse and protect the service. Where applicable, we rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in security and support, legal obligations, and consent where required. We do not sell personal information, use gameplay answers for advertising or run cross-app advertising tracking.

Service providers and international processing

We use Supabase for authentication, database and multiplayer infrastructure, Resend for verification emails, and RevenueCat and Apple for subscriptions. The Fool Me Supabase project is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. These providers and website hosting providers may process technical or account information in other countries. They process information for the services they provide, subject to their terms and applicable safeguards. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect people, prevent fraud or resolve a security incident.

How long information stays

Active rooms remain available while players keep them active. Closed rooms and their associated gameplay records are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours; closing an empty room can delete it sooner. Request-deduplication records expire after 24 hours. Saved player profiles and match statistics remain until account deletion. Resolved moderation records older than 90 days are scheduled for deletion; unresolved security or abuse records may remain while needed for investigation. Operational logs, provider transaction records and backups can follow provider retention schedules. Deletion from the live game does not imply immediate removal from every provider backup.

Device storage and website

The app stores your sign-in session, preferences and some drafts locally. Native sign-in sessions use secure device storage. The support website does not ask you to create an account or use advertising analytics. Hosting and network providers may use essential security cookies and process IP addresses, browser details and security logs to deliver and protect the site. External sites, email apps and stores have their own privacy practices.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can change your nickname and character in Profile, sign out, or delete your player/account from Profile → Account & saved progress. Account deletion removes the live account and associated personal game records; some records may be retained when legally required or to prevent fraud, and provider transaction records may remain. Deleting the app alone does not delete the account. Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your information or to object to processing where those rights apply. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account. You may also contact your local data protection authority.

Younger players

Fool Me is not directed to children under 13. A higher minimum age may apply where you live, and anyone under the age of legal majority should have a parent or guardian's permission. Family question filtering cannot guarantee what other players type. If you believe a child provided personal information contrary to these rules, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Security and changes

We use authenticated access, server-side permissions, encrypted connections and secure session storage to protect the service. No service can guarantee complete security. We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change; the date above identifies the current version. We will give additional notice of material changes where required.
